What Information Is Needed for an Offshore PCB Quote, and How Long Does It Take?

To provide an accurate quote, we require any of the following: Gerber data, fabrication notes, a PDF file, and/or an array drawing, along with any special requirements. Most standard PCBs can be quoted within hours. However, complex designs with high layer counts, HDI, micro-vias, or blind and buried vias may take up to 24 hours. Is there a Minimum Order Quantity?

No, we have no minimum order quantity—you can order as few or as many PCBs as you need.

What Are Your Payment Terms?

Our standard terms are Net 30, with a 2% discount for payments within 10 days (upon approval).

How Long Does It Take to Receive an Order?

Most orders arrive within two to four weeks, depending on factors like layer count, technology, and order volume.

How Are Orders Shipped and Tracked?

Shipping depends on order volume, cost targets, and purchase order requirements. Options include: • Express (FedEx, UPS, DHL): ~2 days (most expensive) • Freight forwarder: ~4–7 days (mid-range cost) • Sea freight: ~4–5 weeks (most cost-effective) Our offshore service center provides daily WIP and SHIP reports for open orders, and you'll receive tracking details once your order ships.

Is Freight Included in the Price? What About Tariffs?

Yes, our quoted price includes delivery to your door. Tariffs are calculated as a percentage of the board's export price and will appear as a separate line item on your invoice.

Are your PCBs RoHS Compliant?

Yes, PCBs can be RoHS compliant if specified in the design files. However, standard boards typically use lead-based solder and are not RoHS compliant unless otherwise indicated.

What Happens if There’s a Quality Issue? Who’s Responsible?

Our offshore inspection teams review every order at the factory to resolve any potential issues before shipping. In the rare case of a quality concern, Microchip USA will provide a resolution, whether through a domestic or offshore solution.

Does Microchip USA Use Multiple Offshore PCB Manufacturing Facilities?

Yes. We understand that no single offshore facility can meet the diverse needs of every project. That’s why Microchip USA acquired PCB manufacturing facilities in multiple locations. However, once a part number is assigned to a facility, it remains there unless prior approval is given to ensure consistency.

How Do Your Stocking Programs Work?
